A while ago we talked about the kinds of weirdos you encounter when you practice martial arts and self-defense. I have my own stories, but there are tons more and so many practitioners experience similar things. So in this episode, I share some of these tales.
Enjoy.

LOL true! As a teenager, I distinctly remember two adult men who didn’t train who insisted they could beat me up. They were bigger, so probably they could have, but regardless of whether or not that’s true, it’s a pretty strange thing for an adult man to say to a 15-year-old girl.
As an adult, I’ve not been challenged physically, but have definitely had people want to come take over my classes. In my experience, there has never been any discussion of their experience or credentials. They’ve just shown up and said, “Hi, I love martial arts and I would love to teach your class with you.” Hahaha. This has happened when I’ve been teaching a class that’s specifically billed as “self defense for women, by women,” which tells me they are not very observant!
